Found this article to be fascinating. I think that most salient was the importance of:

  • Diversifying your income streams to be flexible
  • Even a business needs a “rainy day fund” which is equivalent to investing in the business
  • Having a board of advisors and people that can help you run your business like “an adult”

I mean, I might be biased, but I thought they were good ideas.
